How My Services Work
Most clients begin with a Behavior Assessment, which evaluates your dog’s emotional state, environment, and learning needs before recommending next steps. The Behavior Assessment forms the foundation of all ongoing training and support. Available in-home or virtually.
For basic obedience or skill-building, a Virtual Training Consult or In-Home Training Session may be a good starting point without requiring a prior assessment.
Training packages are designed for clients who want structured, ongoing support after an initial assessment or prior session.
In-home services include travel within 10 miles of Mansfield, CT (06268).
Sessions outside this radius are subject to a travel fee of $0.67 per mile (round trip).
Virtual sessions are available regardless of location and do not incur travel fees.

What I Can Help With
-
Address issues like excessive barking, chewing, digging, jumping, and over-excitement. This training identifies the root causes of unwanted behaviors and implements strategies to redirect your dog’s energy. It also teaches polite responses to visitors, helping your dog become a well-behaved companion and improving your relationship.
-
Teach fundamental commands such as sit, stay, come (recall), heel, down, and leave it. Training focuses on consistent reinforcement to ensure your dog obeys reliably in various situations. Reliable recall is emphasized for off-leash activities, creating a safer, more harmonious relationship between you and your dog.
-
Address pulling, lunging, and reactivity on walks. Training focuses on polite leash walking using positive reinforcement and corrective strategies, helping your dog remain calm and focused. Enjoy safer, more relaxed walks with better control and reduced stress for both of you.
-
Assist puppies and adult dogs with potty training, establishing routines and reinforcing proper behavior. Positive reinforcement and effective management prevent indoor accidents and help your dog adapt to household expectations.
-
Introduce your dog to new environments, people, and other dogs in a controlled, positive manner. Proper socialization builds confidence, reduces fear and aggression, and helps your dog handle new situations calmly and confidently.
-
Support fearful or anxious dogs through desensitization and counter-conditioning. Training gradually increases comfort with stressors like being home alone or visiting the vet, helping your dog feel secure, reduce destructive behaviors, and remain calm in previously stressful situations.
-
Create a positive, secure crate experience. Training encourages voluntary entry, establishes a routine, and makes the crate a safe, desirable space. Proper crate training supports house training, travel safety, and provides a comfortable place for your dog to relax.
-
Manage aggressive behaviors toward people or other dogs using behavioral modification techniques. Identify triggers, implement desensitization strategies, and teach alternative responses to aggression, creating a safer and more controlled environment.
-
Address possessiveness over food, toys, or space. Training teaches sharing and comfort around people and pets, using desensitization, counter-conditioning, and alternative behaviors to reduce conflicts and promote harmony in the household.
-
Incorporate outdoor activities like walks, hikes, or sniff spots for off-leash training and enrichment. These experiences provide mental and physical stimulation, reduce stress, strengthen your bond, and promote overall health and well-being.
